Workshop on Microbial Resources

Aims and outlines
Japan made tremendous contributions in the field of applied microbiology.  However, recent trends in genomics and the Convention on Biological Diversity have impacted on natural product drug discovery.  In 2000, we thus initiated a workshop on microbial resources so that the scientists of this field in industries, universities, and national institutes can exchange information through enthusiastic discussions.  The workshops in the past have all been well received.  In fact, many cases of information exchanges turned out to be either collaborations or business opportunities.  In 2012, unfortunately, we did not make it to hold the workshops due to several other international forum, symposium or training courses organized by us.
