On August 23 (Thursday), we are holding the ‘2018 CELF-ELTama Forum for English Language Teaching’ at the ELF Study Hall 2015, Tamagawa University. This joint-event, through the collaboration of the Center for ELF and ELTama, features a variety of sessions designed to promote discussion about research and practices related to ELF and English language teaching. Registration is not required, and attendance is free and open to everyone.

Since its foundation in 2014, CELF has gained its recognition both domestically and internationally as a front runner of ELF-informed university English language programs, and is featured in TESOL Encyclopedia of English Language Teaching (2018). The presenter reflects its first five years focusing on 1) Multicultural program management; 2) Promoting ELF awareness on campus, and 3) Issues of assessment. He then discusses how we need to cope with various remaining issues for the next five years in correspondence with rapid social changes.

英語のリーディング指導では、生徒が英文を主体的に読もうとしない、テキスト理解が深まらない、などさまざまな課題があります。これらの課題を解決する糸口として発問を考えてみたいと思います。そこで(1)リーディング指導における発問とはどのようなものか、(2)なぜ発問が重要なのか、(3)どのように発問をつくればよいのか、(4)発問を使ってどのように授業を行うのか、などを具体的に考えてみましょう。
